Registering 
 
How much does the IFAM cost?
The cost of registering in the IFAM depends on the number of participants. The full breakdown of pricing is available on the Register page of our website. The fee covers participation in the moot, the Crash Course and every event named in the programme (as seen on the website). The registration fee does not cover travel expenses, accommodation or meals (unless explicitly stated).
 
When does registration for the IFAM close?
Registration for the IFAM is open until 27 January 2023.
 
How do I register for the IFAM?
To register for the IFAM, simply visit our website and follow the instructions on the ‘Register’ page. 
 
I filled out the registration form but did not receive an email, why?
Once you have completed the registration form, please do not forget to check your spam (or other) folders in your email.
 
Who is eligible to register for the IFAM?
The IFAM is open to anyone interested in developing their knowledge of football and sports law. Students at any stage of their studies are eligible, as well as qualified lawyers with little or no experience in sports law. Determination of eligibility is made on a case by case basis, please contact the IFAM Organisers in case of any doubt.
 
Written Rounds
 
How are the written rounds conducted?
The written rounds are done by the teams from their home locations over the course of many weeks. For full details please refer to the Competition Rules that can be found in ‘The Moot’ section of the website.
 
How are the written rounds marked?
The written rounds are marked by our team of professionals based on explicit scoring criteria that can be found in Annex 1 of the Competition Rules that can be found in ‘The Moot’ section of the website.
 
Can a coach help us with the written rounds?
Yes. Your university may nominate a coach to guide your team and help. However, we remind the coach that this is an educational experience so they should allow the students to do as much as possible on their own.
 
How are the written rounds submitted?
Once a document is completed, it should be submitted in PDF format to the IFAM Organisers via an email address that will be provided at the outset of the competition.
 
Travelling to Platja D’Aro
 
Where is Platja D’Aro?
Platja D’Aro is a scenic coastal town on the Costa Brava of Spain. It is found an hours drive north of Barcelona and thirty minutes east of Girona.
 
How should I travel to Platja D’Aro?
Participants are free to make the best arrangements for their own situation. If you must make an international journey, we recommend that you fly to Barcelona-El Prat or Girona-Barcelona airport. As the event starts on a morning, we strongly recommend that you arrive either in Barcelona or Platja D’Aro the night before. Travel expenses are not included in the registration fee (apart from the bus service). 
 
Accommodation in Platja D’Aro
 
Where can I stay?
Participants are responsible for finding their own accommodation for the duration of the Event. Participants are free to choose where they stay. The IFAM Group has an agreement with three hotels to provide participants a special discounted price for the duration of the Event. Please visit the ‘Location’ section of our website to find out how to take advantage of this offer. 
 
The Event
 
What is the Event?
The IFAM culminates in a three-day action-packed event in Platja D’Aro, Spain. These three days contain a schedule including all of the oral rounds of the moot, lectures, networking and social events. For the full programme of the event, please visit the ‘Programme’ section of our website.
 
When is the Event?
The event will be held from Thursday 27 April 2023 until and including Saturday 29 April 2023.
 
Is there a dress code?
For most of the event, no, you may dress as you wish. However, you must be in formal attire for the oral rounds of the moot, as though it were a real hearing. We also recommend you bring beachwear in case you want to take the chance to relax on the beach in your spare time. 
Oral Rounds
 
How are the oral rounds conducted?
The oral rounds are done by the teams in person at the event over the course of the three days. For full details please refer to the Competition Rules that can be found in ‘The Moot’ section of the website.
 
How are the oral rounds marked?
The oral rounds are scored by the presiding arbitrator(s) based on explicit scoring criteria that can be found in Annex 1 of the Competition Rules that can be found in ‘The Moot’ section of the website.
